House Manual
Please take a moment to thoroughly read all our house rules. Understanding these guidelines ensures you have all the important information needed for a pleasant and enjoyable stay.
Check-in:
Check-in is easy with our smart lock! You’ll receive your unique code on the day of arrival. Enter the code and press the bottom-left unlock button to access the house.
Guests:
Additional guests are not permitted. If you have specific requirements or need to accommodate extra individuals, please communicate with us beforehand.
Drinking Water:
Our tap water is safe and high quality, drawn from our own 89-meter deep well, removing the need for bottled water. For the freshest drinking water directly from the well (not through the heated boiler where it might have stayed for days), please turn the tap to cold and let it run until it feels chilly, typically in about 5-10 seconds.

When using hot water after the house has been idle, you may notice a brief bursting of air from the tap lasting about 10 seconds. This is normal and occurs as natural air from the water that was trapped in the boiler is now released.
Water Conservation:
As the house is somewhat secluded inside the nature preserve, we do not have a central sewage system. Therefore, we kindly ask our guests to use water sparingly as HavenHouse relies solely on a truck-based sewage system!
Coffee:
We provide 6 Lavazza A Modo Mio coffee capsules for your convenience. If you’re a frequent coffee drinker and might need more, feel free to purchase additional A Modo Mio capsules. Please ensure not to mix them with Lavazza Blue, Dolce Gusto, or Nespresso capsules, as these are not compatible with our machine. Enjoy your coffee moments at HavenHouse!
Yakisugi Facade Care:
Our HavenHouse features a beautiful yet extremely tender Yakisugi facade. When shoveling snow or operating close to it, please be extra careful to avoid any mechanical injury. Additionally, refrain from touching it, leaning objects on it, or placing any items against the Yakisugi exterior. Your attention to these details helps maintain the integrity and beauty of our unique facade. Thank you for your cooperation.
Clean your feet:
After returning from the beach or woods, please wash sand off your feet using the tap located in front of the house, next to the terrace stairs. Avoid bringing sand into the house or under the indoor shower.
We kindly ask that guests refrain from wearing shoes inside at any time.
Sauna Usage:
If you plan to use the sauna, everything you need is in the sauna front room, including firewood and lighters. Please do not adjust the dampers or any other components in the sauna. Simply make the fire in the stove.
IMPORTANT: If you light the fire, ensure it is deep inside the stove, definitely avoiding placement right behind the glass.

For optimal use, keep the sauna temperature around 80°C. The stove is powerful, providing ample steam, and typically heats up in about an hour. Avoid exceeding 100°C.

IMPORTANT: The sauna is not designed to be continuously heated for extended periods. Do not heat it for more than 2-3 hours at a time.

Overheating the sauna can damage the walls and ceiling. Any damage caused by improper use or excessive heating will be the guest’s responsibility.
Ventilation Usage:
After sauna sessions, feel free to use the white ventilation switch, located on the wall to the right from the kitchen sink, to cool down the house and eliminate moisture. Feel free to leave the ventilation on overnight especially during summer to avoid the upstairs becoming too warm.
Like in any house with a ventilation system and a wood burning heater, the ventilation system can only be used when there is no fire or even slightly burning coal left in the sauna stove.

IMPORTANT: Using the ventilation while there's still a fire can result in smoke entering the house.
Thermostats:
Please do not adjust the thermostats in the living or sauna rooms, as the smart system manages heating automatically. If you prefer a temperature above 23°C, ensure both thermostats are set to the same level using the up/down buttons on the right. Before leaving, kindly set both thermostats back to 23°C.
WiFi
For WiFi, please connect to the “wifi 5GHz” network using the password: snabirivupsk1
Hot Tub Etiquette:
The hot tub can only be used if the nighttime temperature stays above 0°C.

IMPORTANT: Before you start heating the stove, make sure there is enough water in the hot tub so that all the pipes coming from the stove are fully submerged, with an additional 5cm of water as reserve. Otherwise there is a fire hazard and the stove will melt!

To fill up the hot tub, use the hose stored under the sauna bench in the blue plastic bag. Connect it to the tap located outside on the terrace. Please return the hose with the blue bag under the bench afterward.

Keep the insulated cover on while the hot tub is heating and after use. This will help it heat up more quickly and maintain its temperature overnight, while also keeping debris out.

Before you leave, please:
-
Drain the tub – Use the hose next to the barrel to empty the water into the gray 5cm pipe located ~50cm from the stove. Never drain the tub while the fire is still burning in the stove!
-
Clear the bubble system – Just switch it on for ~7 seconds, when you see that all the remaining water droplets from the nozzles have come out.
-
Rinse & dry – Rinse the tub and dry it using your used sauna towels.
-
Keep it scratch-free – When drying the barrel always enter with clean feet or clean house Crocs (provided in the house). Sandy feet or shoes will very easily scratch the tub’s inner lining!
Hot Tub Heating Tips:
Heating takes approximately +/- 4 hours.
During heating, for example, when you add firewood, briefly turn on the bubble system to mix the water. This will help the hot tub heat up faster.
Measure the temperature in the mixed water (after keeping the bubble system running for about 30 seconds).
Once the temperature reaches around 35 degrees celsius, do not add too much firewood to the stove to avoid overheating. The ideal water temperature is 38-40 degrees, depending on personal preference.
SUP Boards Usage:
The stand-up paddleboards are stored behind the shed. Please handle them with care and return them to this location after use.

Guests are responsible for their own safety while using the SUP boards. Always wear a life vest (provided) and be mindful of weather and water conditions.

We ask that you use the boards respectfully and report any damage or issues immediately to ensure they remain in good condition for all guests.

Remember, using the SUP boards is at your own risk. Make sure you are comfortable with your swimming skills and understand how to handle the board before heading out.

IMPORTANT: Please do not venture out on the SUP boards during windy conditions, especially if the wind is blowing offshore, as it can quickly carry you away from shore.

IMPORTANT: Always check the weather forecast before heading out and make a sensible decision based on current and expected conditions.
